Designing JC's Flag

JC's requested flag design for a "mythical creature" was a challenge which I wasn't quite sure how to tackle, especially when I was planning to hand-stitch all of the flags. Having decided to print the flags in lino-cut - I felt more confident that I could tackle JC's design. I started out by collecting images of the various different animal body parts which he wanted amalgamating - and then bobbled together the following images:

Of the five, this was his favourite, but he asked for the wings to be made to look more "dragon-y" and the head of the eagle to be breathng fire.

I produced the following sketch with his requested ammendments and his response was "it looks like something I would like to turn into!"
