Bosnia & Herzegovina Sketches
I started off my trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina in Mostar, then visiting the village of Blagaj, before heading to the capital Sarajevo. Mostar
One of the reasons I wanted to go to Mostar, is because a Bosnian friend of mine asked me to create an illustration of him in the shape of the Mostar Bridge (to represent his role as a 'communications bridge' between Europe and the institutions). Richard tragically died in 2022 from Meningitis - so, I was grateful to be able to see the bridge and honour his memory.

Mostar was at the centre of the Bosnian war in the 90s, and there are many buildings with bullet holes as well as complete ruins held up by scaffolding.

Sarajevo
Sarajevo is an incredibly diverse city, with mosques, churches and synagogues at every street corner. The architecture varies from the Ottoman Empire to the Austro-Hungarian Empire era and includes very modern buildings.
