Motaz understood the "choose your colours" brief right away and sent me the following list along with a selection of really great profile photos for me to work from:
Golden Yellow: Symbolizing hope and positivity.
Crimson Red: Representing passion and advocacy.
Brown: Evoking safety, warmth, and comfort.
Black: Signifying resilience.
We decided on our favourite sketch from the selection I made previously and I worked it up into this linework portrait. I love how his smile absolutely lights up the page.
Then I added the watercolour splatters. I feel like the red came out too pink here.
I am extremely happy with how the oil pastel drawing turned out. I think his choice of colour work really well together, as well the photo being extremely high quality to work from. I feel quite relieved knowing I've got all the sketch / draft work for the portraits done now - all I have to do is paint the oil portraits!
