Sketches from Bavaria (Sept 2025)

My latest trip to Bavaria started with a stunning ethereal view of the English channel at dawn, and beautiful start to a magical two-week trip...

Bad Reichenhall was looking as beautiful as ever in the early-autumn climate...

We hiked up one of the mountains which overlook the little spa town on the first weekend...

We also visited Salzburg zoo on a beautifully sunny day and I was delighted to see two white wolves which looked very similar to my dear Alba, who passed away 1 year ago.

On the second weekend we visited a lake in Seekirchen am Wallersee in Austria which had a nature walk.

I bought some adorable gingerbread decorated with birds (Redstarts and Beeeaters) from the cafe by the lake.

We also visited a very interesting dystopian art exhibition by artist, Rob Voerman, at Salzburg Modern Art Museum, which dealt with climate breakdown and conspiracy theories through sculpture and installation. We also had a go on an "Art-o-Mat" AI art generating machine.
