I spent 4 weeks in Kosovo and North Macedonia in June / July 2026, below are some watercolours I made of the local buildings and architecture. I've been exploring the capital of North Macedonia, which has some very impressive historical architecture in the centre, a charming old town bazaar with cobble stone streets and a sprawling metropolitan area with small churches dispersed in between apartment blocks. Peculiarly, on the river in the city centre there are three large pirate ships, two of which are used as restaurants, whereas the third appears to be abandoned but can be accessed by a bridge from the river bank.
