Sketches from Skopje

I've been exploring the capital of North Macedonia, which has some very impressive historical architecture in the centre, a charming old town bazaar with cobble stone streets and a sprawling metropolitan area with small churches dispersed in between apartment blocks. Peculiarly, on the river in the city centre there are three large pirate ships, two of which are used as restaurants, whereas the third appears to be abandoned but can be accessed by a bridge from the river bank. I also walked north of the city centre to see the archaeological site where the aqueduct is located.

Whilst I was in Skopje, I visited the museum of Modern Art, Matka Canyon lake and the zoo: here are some of my favourite photos from the trip.
